Adani Enterprises, Adani Energy see ₹5,718-crore block deals: GQG sells, SBI MF buys stakes

Adani says US legal issues behind it, bets on AI-driven infrastructure boom


Block deals were reported in Adani Enterprises Limited and Adani Energy Solutions Limited on Friday (June 5), with SBI Mutual Fund buying stakes while GQG Partners sold holdings in both companies.

In Adani Enterprises Limited, GQG Partners sold 1.64 crore shares, representing a 1.3% stake, for ₹4,760 crore. SBI Mutual Fund bought those 1.64 crore shares at an average price of ₹2,913.40 per share.

In Adani Energy Solutions Limited, GQG Partners sold a 0.5% stake worth ₹958 crore. SBI Mutual Fund acquired 63.66 lakh shares, representing a 0.5% stake, at an average price of ₹1,504.8 per share.

Last month, GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund had sold 58.92 lakh shares, or around 0.5% stake, in Adani Enterprises through a block deal worth nearly ₹1,435 crore. SBI Mutual Fund bought the shares at an average price of ₹2,435.6 apiece, according to exchange data.

Fourth quarter results

Adani Enterprises reported a net loss of ₹220.7 crore for the fourth quarter, compared with a profit of ₹3,844.9 crore in the year-ago period, even as revenue rose 20.3% year-on-year.

Revenue for the quarter stood at ₹32,439.3 crore, up from ₹26,965.9 crore in the corresponding period last year. EBITDA rose 0.6% to ₹3,731 crore in the quarter, compared with ₹3,710 crore a year earlier. The EBITDA margin narrowed to 11.5% from 13.8% in the year-ago quarter.

The company approved a proposal to raise up to ₹15,000 crore through the issuance of equity shares or other eligible securities, subject to shareholder approval at its annual general meeting scheduled for June 24, 2026.

The company said the fundraising may be undertaken through one or more permissible routes, including private placement, qualified institutions placement, preferential issue, or any other method allowed under applicable law.

Shares of Adani Enterprises Limited ended at ₹3,047.85, up ₹75.05 or 2.52% on the BSE, while shares of Adani Energy Solutions Limited closed at ₹1,579.45, up ₹59.55 or 3.92% today, June 5.
