“Several factors came together over Friday and the weekend. First, Broadcom’s guidance on chip revenue pointed to nearly 200 per cent growth, reaching close to $16 billion. While that may sound impressive, it fell slightly short of the market’s elevated expectations,” Raychaudhuri said adding, “Second, a stronger-than-expected US non-farm payrolls report fueled speculation that the Federal Reserve could raise interest rates, possibly as early as its next meeting.”
