Bondada Engineering wins ₹1,338 crore NTPC Renewable Energy EPC order

Bondada Engineering Ltd has secured a major order worth ₹1,338 crore from NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd for the development of a solar photovoltaic project integrated with a battery energy storage system (BESS) in Uttar Pradesh, providing a fresh boost to its renewable energy business.

The company informed exchanges on June 16 that it has received a Notification of Award (NOA) from NTPC Renewable Energy for an EPC package involving a 250 MW solar PV project along with a 50 MW/200 MWh battery energy storage system at Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.

The project is expected to be completed within 18 months from the receipt of the award.
According to the company, the order will significantly strengthen its position in India’s clean energy sector and enhance revenue visibility over the coming years.

Following the award, Bondada’s solar EPC order book has expanded to around 5.5 GWp, while its BESS order book has increased to roughly 1.1 GWh.

The company said the contract reflects the confidence placed in its engineering capabilities and execution track record by one of India’s leading public sector renewable energy companies. It added that the project is expected to contribute meaningfully to future revenues, profitability and long-term shareholder value creation.

The latest order adds to a series of developments in Bondada Engineering’s renewable energy portfolio. Earlier this year, the company commissioned 69.51 MWp of solar projects across Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu for clients including Paradigm IT, MAHAGENCO and NLC India Ltd.

In February, Bondada also signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai-based Bryan Ston Renewables FZCO to explore sustainable green-powered data centres. Around the same period, it announced a ₹375.7 crore domestic solar EPC-related order involving Balance of System works for a 300 MW AC solar power project.
