US Fed FOMC Meeting LIVE Updates: The US Federal Reserve is widely expected to keep interest rates unchanged at its policy meeting on Wednesday (June 17), marking the first Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting under new Chair Kevin Warsh.
The FOMC decision is scheduled for 2:00 PM Eastern Time (11:30 PM IST), followed by a press conference by Fed Chair Kevin Warsh at 2:30 PM ET (12:00 AM IST on June 18).
Markets are pricing in a policy pause, with the benchmark interest rate expected to remain in the 3.5%–3.75% range.
Inflation in the US has climbed to a three-year high of 4.2%, according to government data released last week, largely driven by higher gas prices. The surge has been linked to increased energy costs following President Donald Trump’s war on Iran, which pushed oil prices higher.
