Imagicaaworld to temporarily shut Khopoli water park from June 19 amid low dam water levels


Entertainment park player Imagicaaworld Entertainment Ltd on Thursday (June 18) said it will temporarily close operations at its water park in Khopoli, Maharashtra, from June 19, 2026, after receiving a communication from the Maharashtra Irrigation Department directing the company to refrain from using water from nearby dams.

“…we would like to inform you that the Company is in receipt of communication from the Irrigation Department, Government of Maharashtra, directing the company to refrain from utilising water from the dams, highlighting low water levels in the dams in surrounding region, considering the prevailing El Nino effect,” according to a stock exchange filing.

The department cited low water levels in dams in the surrounding region amid the prevailing El Niño effect. The affected facility is Imagicaa Water Park, located at Sangdewadi on the Khopoli-Pali Road in Taluka Khalapur, Raigad district.

“Considering the same, the management shall be temporarily closing the operation of Imagicaa Water Park located at 30/31, Sangdewadi, Khopoli – Pali Road, Taluka Khalapur, District Raigad – 410 203, Maharashtra w.e.f June 19, 2026 until the water situation improves,” Imagicaaworld Entertainment said.

The company said operations will remain suspended until the water situation improves. Imagicaaworld said it will closely monitor developments and provide updates on the resumption of operations at the water park.

The company stated that it is in the process of assessing the quantum of loss or damage arising from the closure, as the duration of the disruption is currently unknown. It added that the impact could be non-material if operations resume early.

The company also said it plans to approach insurers under its Loss of Profit cover, though the allowability of any claim under the present circumstances is not assured at this stage.

Shares of Imagicaaworld Entertainment Ltd ended at ₹45.60, up by ₹2.11, or 4.85%, on the BSE.
