Nifty IT crashes 6% to hit 52-week low after Accenture cuts FY26 guidance; Infosys, TCS, HCLTech bleed - Markets


Nifty IT Down Today: The Nifty IT index, which tracks the top 10 IT companies on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), fell sharply on Friday, June 19, declining over 6 per cent. The sell-off was triggered after global IT services firm Accenture cut its FY26 revenue guidance, sparking broad-based weakness across IT stocks.

At around 9:25 am, the index was down about 1,715 points at 26,751.20, marking a fresh 52-week low. All 10 constituents of the index traded in the red, reflecting widespread selling pressure across the sector.

Key stocks leading the decline

Infosys was among the worst hit, falling over 8 per cent to around Rs 1,035, also slipping to a 52-week low.

Tata Consultancy Services declined more than 6 per cent to roughly Rs 2,068, contributing heavily to the index’s losses.

Coforge dropped over 4 per cent to about Rs 1,419.

HCLTech fell over 5 per cent to nearly Rs 1,100.

The weakness was not limited to the five constituents. Other index stocks also traded lower, including Persistent Systems, Wipro, LTIMindtree, Mphasis, and Oracle Financial Services Software.
