Stock Market Holiday: NSE, BSE to Remain Closed on June 26 for Muharram - Markets

The announcement comes after a mixed finish to the trading week. On Friday, both benchmark indices snapped a five-day winning streak, with the Nifty falling 0.64 percent to close at 24,013.10 and the Sensex declining 0.78 percent to settle at 76,802.90. Despite the Friday dip, both indices still managed to extend their weekly gains for a second consecutive week, rising roughly 1.8 percent over the course of the week. The broader rally through the week was supported by easing crude oil prices following the recent US-Iran agreement, which had helped ease some of the inflationary and supply-side pressure weighing on markets.
