June Auto Sales Preview: Maruti, Tata Motors, M&M and TVS to lead another strong month


India’s automobile industry is expected to post another month of healthy wholesale growth in June, with passenger vehicles and two-wheelers continuing to lead the recovery, while commercial vehicles and tractors are also likely to report steady gains.

According to estimates, passenger vehicle sales are expected to grow 26% year-on-year, while two-wheeler dispatches are seen rising 18%. Medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) sales are likely to increase 12%, with tractor sales estimated to grow 7%. The month is also expected to see continued momentum in electric vehicle adoption.

Among two-wheeler manufacturers, Bajaj Auto is expected to report a 26% rise in wholesales to 4.55 lakh units, while TVS Motor Company is also seen posting 26% growth to 5.07 lakh units.

Royal Enfield sales are estimated to increase 19% to 1.2 lakh units, whereas Hero MotoCorp is likely to remain largely flat with a marginal 0.2% increase to 5.55 lakh units.

In the passenger vehicle segment, Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to lead growth with a 31% increase in sales to 1.03 lakh units.

Maruti Suzuki India is likely to post 22% growth to 2.05 lakh units, while Tata Motors is seen registering the sharpest jump, with passenger vehicle sales rising 71% to 64,000 units. In contrast, Hyundai Motor India is expected to report a 20% decline to 49,000 units.

In the commercial vehicle segment, Ashok Leyland is estimated to post 10% growth to 16,900 units, while Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle sales are projected to rise 26% to 38,200 units. Mahindra & Mahindra’s tractor sales are expected to increase 5% to 55,800 units, indicating resilient rural demand despite an already high base.
