Ceigall India bags ₹331 crore Delhi road project as lowest bidder

Ceigall India Ltd has emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder for a road strengthening project floated by the Public Works Department (PWD), Government of Delhi, with a bid value of ₹330.84 crore, including GST.

The company said it emerged as the L1 bidder after the financial bid was opened on June 29, 2026. The estimated tender cost was ₹256.46 crore, while Ceigall India’s L1 bid stood at ₹330.84 crore, approximately 29% higher than the estimated cost. An L1 bidder is the participant that submits the lowest eligible financial bid in a government tender, though the award is subject to the fulfilment of tender conditions and other formalities.

The contract pertains to the strengthening and other works of various roads under the South Maintenance Zone of the Delhi PWD during 2026-27. Road strengthening projects typically involve resurfacing, pavement rehabilitation and other measures aimed at improving the durability and service life of existing roads. The project has been awarded under an item rate contract and is being awarded by a domestic entity.

As per the disclosure, the construction period for the project is 375 days. This will be followed by a defect liability period of 12 months after completion of the work and a free maintenance period of 48 months after the defect liability period ends. This means the company will remain responsible for the upkeep of the roads for five years after construction is completed.

Ceigall India said neither its promoters, promoter group nor group companies have any interest in the awarding entity. The company also clarified that the contract does not qualify as a related-party transaction.

Ceigall India is an infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company with a strong presence in roads, highways, bridges, flyovers and other infrastructure projects.

Shares of Ceigall India Ltd were trading 1.15% lower at ₹391.40 on the NSE.
