The order covers the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP solar-powered agricultural water pumping systems across the state, the company said in an exchange filing.
The project aims to expand access to solar-powered irrigation infrastructure, enabling farmers to use clean and reliable energy for irrigation while reducing dependence on conventional power sources.
The latest order adds to a series of contracts awarded by MSEDCL to expand solar-powered irrigation in Maharashtra. Earlier on July 4, Oswal Pumps disclosed in an exchange filing that it had GK Energy from the state utility for deploying 10,000 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems.
Total MSEDCL order book crosses ₹637 crore
Following the latest contract, GK Energy said its cumulative order book from MSEDCL has risen to ₹637.83 crore.
The company said the project is scheduled to be executed within 60 days from the issuance of the work order or Notice to Proceed (NTP).
Commenting on the development, Gopal Kabra, Chairman and Managing Director of GK Energy, said the company’s technology-driven, asset-light operating model has enabled it to execute decentralised renewable energy projects efficiently at scale. He added that expanding access to clean energy infrastructure for agriculture would help improve farm productivity, sustainability and long-term resilience.
Focus on solar irrigation
The company said government-led programmes such as the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana are accelerating the adoption of solar-powered irrigation systems by strengthening rural energy infrastructure and improving farmers’ access to sustainable energy solutions.
As of March 2026, GK Energy said it has installed more than 140,000 renewable energy systems and commissioned over 617 MW of renewable energy capacity across India.
The company currently operates across more than 7,500 villages, spanning solar-powered agricultural pumping systems, rooftop solar, distributed renewable infrastructure and other clean energy solutions, the exchange filing said.
Shares of GK Energy were trading 3.54% up at ₹144.58 following the order win on Monday. The stock has, however, declined about 14% over the last 12 months.
