Crompton Greaves Consumer bags additional MSEDCL solar water pumping order worth ₹65 crore


Electrical appliances maker Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd on Wednesday (July 8) said it has received an additional allocation under its existing rate contract with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL), taking the latest order value to about ₹64.99 crore, excluding GST.

The order is for the design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing and commissioning of 3,000 Off-grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) under the MTSKPY/PM-KUSUM-B scheme across Maharashtra.

“…this is to inform that the company has received an letter of empanelment and rate contract from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing & commissioning of Off-grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) under MTSKPY/ PM-KUSUM-B scheme at various location across the state of Maharashtra with total order value of ₹64.99 crore approximately (Rupees sixty four crore and ninety nine lakh approximately) (excluding GST),” according to a stock exchange filing.

The contract also includes a complete system warranty, repair and maintenance, and a remote monitoring system (RMS) for five years. The company said the order is to be executed within 60 days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) or work order.

Crompton Greaves Consumer said the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity. It also stated that the promoter, promoter group and group companies have no interest in MSEDCL, and the order does not constitute a related-party transaction.

The company had earlier informed exchanges on July 2, 2026, about receiving a letter of empanelment and rate contract. The latest order is an additional allocation under that contract.

Fourth Quarter Results

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals reported a consolidated net loss of ₹533.9 crore for the fourth quarter of FY26, compared with a net profit of ₹169.5 crore in the year-ago period on May 13, after booking a ₹716 crore impairment charge related to its Butterfly Gandhimathi business.

The company said it maintained adjusted profit after tax, excluding exceptional items, at ₹172 crore during the quarter. Revenue for the quarter rose 10.8% year-on-year to ₹2,283.3 crore from ₹2,060.8 crore earlier, while EBITDA increased marginally by 1.2% to ₹270.7 crore.

EBITDA margin narrowed to 11.9% from 13% a year ago, impacted by higher commodity costs and other expenses, partly offset by cost optimisation initiatives.

The board recommended a dividend of ₹3 per equity share for FY26, subject to shareholder approval at the company’s upcoming annual general meeting scheduled for August 7, 2026. The record date for determining dividend eligibility has been fixed as July 24, 2026.

Shares of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd ended at ₹259.00, down by ₹9.45, or 3.52%, on the BSE.
