- If you have lost access to your registered mobile number or have never registered one with Aadhaar, you will need to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra or an authorised Aadhaar enrolment and update centre to register or update your mobile number.
The government said nearly 49 lakh mobile numbers have been updated through the app so far.
Can you update your address?
Yes. The Aadhaar App
allows users to submit address update requests digitally.
UIDAI also allows address updates through the Head of Family (HoF) method for eligible users. Under this facility, a family member whose Aadhaar contains the correct address can approve the request through the Aadhaar App.
According to MeitY, around 11.65 lakh address updates have been completed through the app.
Can you update your email address?
Yes. The email update feature became available on the Aadhaar App on July 1, 2026.

What is the biometric lock/unlock feature?
The Aadhaar App allows users to lock or unlock the biometrics linked to their Aadhaar number.
According to UIDAI, locking biometrics prevents biometric authentication until the holder unlocks them again. This feature can be useful if you do not want your fingerprints or iris authentication to be used temporarily.
MeitY said users have used the feature more than 1.91 crore times.
