Swaraj Engines reported its highest ever sales and profit for any quarter, the company said in its exchange filing.
For the June quarter, Swaraj Engines’ net profit grew by 11% on a year-on-year basis to ₹56 crore from ₹50 crore last year.
Revenue for the quarter stood at ₹588.4 crore, 21.5% higher than the ₹484.1 crore it reported in the June quarter last year.
Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter increased by 14.2% year-on-year basis to ₹76.6 crore from ₹67.1 crore.
EBITDA margin for the quarter narrowed by nearly 90 basis points but remained steady at 13% from 13.86% last year.
The company’s engine sales during the quarter stood at 56,803 during the quarter, compared to 49,040 during the same quarter last year.
At the end of the March quarter, promoters Mahindra & Mahindra had a 52.11% stake in Swaraj Engines, as per the BSE Shareholding pattern.
Among the public shareholders, DSP Smallcap Fund, and Parag Parikh Conservative Hybrid Fund lead the 8.02% stake that Mutual Funds hold in the company.
Close to 36,000 retail investors or those with authorized share capital of up to ₹2 lakh, had a 22.43% stake in the company at the end of the March quarter.
After the initial pop, shares of Swaraj Engines have given up all of their gains and are now trading at the flat line at ₹3,715. The stock is down 7% in the last one month and as a result, has turned negative on a year-to-date basis.
