Indian Hotels Q1 results: Tata Group hospitality arm net profit rises 21%, revenue up 15%


Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), the Tata Group hospitality company, reported a strong start to FY27, posting a 20.8% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit at ₹358 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, compared with ₹296 crore a year earlier.

IHCL’s revenue from operations rose 14.6% to ₹2,339 crore, while operating EBITDA increased 16.8% to ₹673 crore. Operating EBITDA margin expanded to 28.8% from 28.2% last year.

The hotel business continued to drive performance, with segment revenue growing 17% year-on-year to ₹2,121 crore and hotel segment EBITDA rising 21%. Like-for-like revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased 14%, reflecting healthy demand and pricing across key markets.

IHCL future business outlook

The IHCL management said it remains confident of delivering double-digit revenue growth for the full year, backed by robust domestic travel demand, new hotel openings, acquisitions and a favourable events calendar.

The growth momentum seen in the first quarter is expected to continue into the second quarter as it expects business from major events including BRICS India 2026, the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 and Aero India 2027, along with more than 40 auspicious wedding dates during the remainder of the financial year.

IHCL expansion plans

To support future growth, IHCL plans to open more than 60 hotels during FY27, comprising around 800 leased keys and 4,200 managed keys. The company also expects approximately ₹250 crore in revenue contribution from newly acquired assets during the year.

IHCL signed 20 hotels and opened 11 hotels during the quarter, taking its portfolio to 382 operational hotels with more than 263 hotels in the pipeline.
The company ended the quarter with a gross cash balance of about ₹4,345 crore, providing financial flexibility for expansion and ongoing investments.

IHCL share price performance

IHCL announced the results after market hours on Monday. IHCL shares settled almost a percent higher at ₹731.75 on the NSE. The scrip has corrected almost a percent so far this year, but the six-month return is nearly 12%.
