Aditya Birla Capital invests ₹124 crore in health insurance arm to meet solvency norms


Aditya Birla Capital has invested ₹123.89 crore in its associate, Aditya Birla Health Insurance (ABHI), through a rights issue, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The investment was made in equity shares of ABHI on a rights basis for a cash consideration of ₹123.89 crore. Following the transaction, Aditya Birla Capital’s shareholding in the health insurer remains unchanged at 45.89%, and ABHI continues to be an associate of the company.

According to the company, the investment has been made to help Aditya Birla Health Insurance meet its solvency margin requirements. The transaction has been carried out on an arm’s length basis.

ABHI operates in the health insurance segment and is an existing associate of Aditya Birla Capital. The company said no regulatory approvals were required for the investment.

The equity shares were allotted on July 21, 2026, with the consideration paid entirely in cash.

Shares of Aditya Birla Capital closed 2.18% higher at ₹409.90 on the NSE.
