Schaeffler India Q1 profit rises 14% as revenue growth offsets margin pressure


Schaeffler India Ltd reported a 13.5% year-on-year increase in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to ₹325.8 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹287.1 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The automotive and industrial components maker also posted double-digit revenue growth, while operating profitability improved despite a marginal contraction in margins.

Consolidated revenue from operations for the April-June quarter rose 17.3% to ₹2,760.6 crore, up from ₹2,352.6 crore a year earlier. Total income increased to ₹2,797.3 crore from ₹2,395.6 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) grew 16% year-on-year to ₹499 crore, compared with ₹430 crore in the year-ago quarter. However, EBITDA margin edged lower to 18.1% from 18.3% a year earlier.

Total expenses during the quarter rose 17.4% to ₹2,354 crore, compared with ₹2,004.3 crore in the same period last year.

Sequential performance

Compared with the quarter ended March 31, 2026, consolidated PAT increased 3.1% from ₹316.1 crore to ₹325.8 crore.

Revenue from operations rose 6.8% sequentially to ₹2,760.6 crore from ₹2,585.6 crore in the March quarter, while total income increased to ₹2,797.3 crore from ₹2,628 crore.

Commenting on the results, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Harsha Kadam said the company’s Automotive Technologies, Vehicle Lifetime Solutions and Intercompany Exports businesses continued their double-digit growth trajectory. However, he noted that the quality of earnings was marginally impacted by cost pressures arising from geopolitical developments.

Earlier this month, Schaeffler India became the first company in the Indian bearings industry to secure a Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) licence for Cylindrical Roller Bearings (CRB) under the new Indian standard, marking a milestone for the country’s industrial and automotive manufacturing ecosystem. The motion technology company said its manufacturing facilities at Maneja and Savli in Gujarat received the BIS licence for cylindrical roller bearings. Both plants have also been awarded BIS certification for Deep Groove Ball Bearings (DGBB).

Shares of Schaeffler India ended 0.58% higher at ₹4,204.50 on the National Stock Exchange ahead of the earnings announcement.
