Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: While the Nifty is still in the range, the Nifty Bank has broken below the 57,500 mark and now is looking to defend 57,000 on the downside. Concerns are also with regards to the broader market sell-off as the slightest earnings miss is being punished severely.

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Another Sensex weekly expiry beckons today and the Nifty bulls are latching on to the 24,000 mark by a whisker. There has not been any dramatic improvement in the situation overnight and crude oil prices continue to remain higher. Brent closed above $95 a barrel overnight, while WTI is nearing $85 a barrel this morning.

Three straight days of selling has sent the index back down to the lower end of the range and 23,800 on the downside is back in play. Having made lower highs all week, the resistance has shifted lower for the Nifty to 24,150 – 24,250.

While the Nifty is still in the range, the Nifty Bank has broken below the 57,500 mark and now is looking to defend 57,000 on the downside. Concerns are also with regards to the broader market sell-off as the slightest earnings miss is being punished severely.

Two stocks could well be the earnings reactions of the day on either side. Dr. Reddy’s is one of them after its US-listed ADR fell 10%. The second is IndusInd Bank. Infosys reports results today along with Nifty names like Cipla & IndiGo.
