In its latest letter to shareholders, the company said the second and third quarters should be viewed together to get a normalised picture of growth, given the shift in the festive sale calendar.
Meesho also said it will step up new-user acquisition, with meaningful investments beginning in the second quarter. The company expects these growth-related spends to trend higher as it moves into the festive quarters.
The company said fuel and wage cost inflation has been passed through to its ecosystem. It added that it is comfortable trading one quarter’s optics for a stronger festive season on a compounding platform. Also Read: IndiGo’s Rahul Bhatia warns letting airport operators own airlines will create ‘massive conflict of interest’
Separately, Meesho announced the launch of AI Blitz, an internal initiative to embed AI agents into its engineering workflows. According to the company, the initiative has resulted in productivity gains of more than two times across the board.
Meesho reported strong growth in the Content Commerce business in the first quarter of FY27. The company reported a 141% year-on-year increase in Content Commerce net merchandise value (NMV), while the number of active order-generating content pieces rose 143% to 1.7 million.
Meesho said the growth was driven by improvements across its creator ecosystem, including simplified onboarding and AI-powered tools that provide insights into content performance, identify high-performing SKUs and guide creators towards producing content that is more likely to generate orders.
The company also said that, during the quarter, it deployed AI agents across software development, testing and documentation, reporting productivity gains of more than two times. It added that it uses AI-powered cataloguing, demand intelligence, multilingual voice agents and its PRISM recommendation engine to support sellers and improve product discovery and personalisation.
