L&T's high-tech manufacturing arm wins fresh orders worth up to ₹5,000 crore

Larsen and Toubro Ltd. (L&T) on Friday, July 24, said its hi-tech manufacturing arm L&T Heavy Engineering has secured a series of international orders in the “large” category across Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America.

L&T classifies orders in the ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore range as “large”.

The business has secured orders from Africa’s largest industrial conglomerate Dangote Group for a mega refinery and multi-train fertilizer expansion projects in Nigeria and Ethiopia.

The scope includes the critical process equipment, comprising the world’s largest fluid catalytic cracking reactor regenerator package, all critical urea and ammonia equipment, L&T said.

The business also won a repeat order from a Japanese customer to manufacture and supply heat exchangers and absorbers for an LNG project in Canada. It secured orders for its core equipment including coke drums, fractionator columns and heat exchangers from customers in Spain, US and Brazil as well, L&T added.

Earlier this week, L&T’s metals and minerals business vertical won “mega” orders from leading domestic metals and mining firms.

L&T classifies orders in the ₹10,000 crore to ₹15,000 crore range as “mega” orders.

L&T reported a mixed set of results in the fourth quarter, with its revenue growth being steady but its earnings fall short of Street estimates amid margin pressures and a high base.

Its board also recommended a final dividend of ₹38 per share for FY26, higher than the previous year’s ₹34 apiece.

Shares of Larsen & Toubro are looking to recover from the day’s low, currently trading 0.7% lower at ₹3,763.5. The stock is down 10% in the last one month.
