Investing heavily in battery storage systems, will cut power cost: Pralhad Joshi | India News

NEW DELHI: New and renewable energy minister Pralhad Joshi has said govt is making significant investments in battery storage systems to support the country’s green transition and along with a strong focus on wind and solar energy, it will help lower electricity costs in the coming years.“…We are investing heavily in battery storage systems, with a strong focus on wind, solar and storage. Results will be seen soon, and it will lead to bringing down the cost of electricity,” he said at the Adani Presents Times Network Sustainability Conclave 2026.Joshi also pointed to the country’s first hydrogen-powered train, saying it places India among a select group of nations investing in the future of sustainable transportation.At the event, MP CM Mohan Yadav elaborated on the state’s sustainability initiatives, including efforts towards afforestation and water conservation. “Across the world, serious discussions on the green economy, circular economy and climate change are shaping the future of development. I am confident that India will continue to play a global leadership role in these areas,” he said.
