Birla Corp Q1 net profit, EBITDA decline; Margins contract to 12.9%

Birla Corp reported its first quarter earnings on Saturday, July 25.

Barring its revenue, its net profit, EBITDA and margin declined.

The company’s net profit was down 3.2% at ₹115.7 crore form ₹119.6 crore last year.

Its revenue in the first quarter increased 7.8% to ₹2,646.5 crore from ₹2,454.2 crore last fiscal.

Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) declined 1.3% to ₹342.3 crore form ₹346.7 crore last year.

Its margins contracted to 12.9% from 14.1% in the year-ago period.

In the previous quarter, its consolidated net profit was at ₹294.8 crore compared to ₹256.6 crore in the previous year. Its revenue from operations increased marginally by 0.7% to ₹2,836.1 crore from ₹2,815 crore.

The company’s EBITDA fell 4.4% to ₹510.3 crore from ₹533.6 crore in the previous year. Its EBITDA margins declined to 17.9% from 18.9%.

Its board had also recommended a dividend of ₹12.5 per share for FY26.

Shares of Birla Corp ended the previous session 0.5% up at ₹979 apiece. It has declined 2.5% in the past month and 11.8% this year, so far.
