According to notices issued by the Commission, it will visit Chennai on September 7 and 8 and Puducherry on September 9.
Central government organisations, institutions, associations and unions seeking to interact with the Commission during these visits have been asked to submit online requests for appointments by August 18, along with the unique Memo ID generated after submitting their memorandum.
The Commission said the venue and meeting schedule for the consultations will be communicated separately.
The Chennai consultations are meant for stakeholders from Tamil Nadu, while the Puducherry meeting is exclusively for organisations and employee bodies from the Union Territory of Puducherry. Stakeholders from other states and Union Territories have been asked not to seek appointments for these meetings, as the Commission plans to hold separate consultations in their respective regions in due course.
The latest schedule comes after the Commission invited Central government employee associations, federations and unions based in Delhi to interact with it on August 7 and August 10 as part of its stakeholder consultation process.
These consultations form a key part of the Commission’s work before it finalises its recommendations on salaries, allowances, pensions and other service-related matters for Central government employees and pensioners.
During the meetings, employee associations typically present memorandums covering issues such as pay structure, allowances, pension benefits, career progression and service conditions. The Commission is expected to examine these submissions along with inputs from ministries, departments and other stakeholders before preparing its final report.
The 8th Central Pay Commission is currently in the consultation phase and is holding meetings across the country to gather feedback before submitting its recommendations to the Central government. Once accepted by the government, the recommendations will determine the next revision in pay and pension benefits for lakhs of Central government employees and pensioners.
