The order involves the construction of doubling work on the Sitamarhi-Raxaul section in Samastipur Division of East Central Railway. The project covers a total stretch of 41.04 km from Kundawa Chainpur (excluding) to Raxaul (excluding).
The scope of work includes earthwork, blanketing, minor bridges, major bridges, station and other buildings, platform work, level crossing work and other miscellaneous works for 25T Indian Railway Standard Loading.

RVNL said the project is in the normal course of business of the company. The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity, East Central Railway, under general contract conditions. The execution period for the project is 1,095 days.
RVNL said the order does not involve any interest of the promoter, promoter group or group companies in the awarding entity. The contract also does not fall under related party transactions.
In May this year, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd had emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a project from North Eastern Railway worth ₹129.46 crore.

In an exchange filing, RVNL said the order involves the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of traction substations along with associated switching posts for a 2×25 KV AT traction feeding system in the Varanasi–Prayagraj section of the Varanasi division of North Eastern Railway.
The project has been awarded under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode and is aimed at capacity upgradation of electric traction power supply installations.
It clarified that the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and that neither the promoter nor promoter group companies have any interest in the awarding entity.

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd ended at ₹221.25, down by ₹2.75, or 1.23%, on the BSE.
