This business is quietly powering Ram Ratna Wires' profit surge

Ram Ratna Wiresreported a 120.8% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, driven by strong revenue growth and improved operating performance.

The company posted a net profit of ₹35.2 crore, compared with ₹15.9 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Revenue from operations jumped 88.6% to ₹1,853.3 crore from ₹982.5 crore.

The faster growth in profit than revenue indicates the company generated stronger operating leverage, allowing earnings to grow at a quicker pace than sales.

Margins improve alongside revenue

Operating EBITDA rose 109% year-on-year to ₹89.6 crore from ₹42.9 crore.

EBITDA margin improved to 4.8% from 4.4% a year earlier.

PAT margin also expanded to 1.9% from 1.6%.

Although the margin improvement appears modest, even small gains can have a meaningful impact in manufacturing businesses operating on relatively thin margins.

Copper tubes business gains momentum

Managing Director Mahendrakumar Kabra said the company started FY27 on a strong note, supported by healthy demand across key end-user industries, disciplined execution and continued investments in expanding manufacturing capabilities.

The company said its Copper Tubes business continued to gain traction, with its contribution to total revenue rising to 26% during the quarter.

The growing share of the copper tubes business is significant because it reduces dependence on the company’s traditional wire business and broadens its exposure to fast-growing sectors such as air conditioning, refrigeration and industrial applications.

Expansion strategy remains intact

Ram Ratna Wires said it continues to invest in capacity expansion while strengthening its presence through its subsidiary and joint venture businesses.

The company also reiterated its focus on:

  • Operational excellence
  • Disciplined capital allocation
  • Improving working capital efficiency

Management said long-term investments in power infrastructure, manufacturing, electrification and energy-efficient cooling solutions are expected to create significant growth opportunities in the years ahead.

These are structural themes supported by government spending and rising private-sector investment, positioning the company to benefit from India’s broader manufacturing and infrastructure push.

Stock reaction

Shares of Ram Ratna Wires closed 2.66% lower at ₹448 on the National Stock Exchange on July 31.

Despite the day’s decline, the company’s June-quarter performance points to broad-based growth across revenue, profitability and business diversification, with investors likely to track whether the momentum in its copper tubes segment continues in the coming quarters.
