The company’s current Managing Director, George Alexander Muthoot, who has led the gold loan lender for over three decades, will assume the role of Executive Vice Chairman.
The company said the move is part of a long-planned succession strategy aimed at ensuring leadership continuity and long-term institutional stability.
Alexander George, the youngest son of former chairman M G George Muthoot, has been associated with the company since 2006. Currently a Whole-Time Director, he has overseen operations across North, East and West India and led initiatives spanning branch expansion, digital transformation, customer experience, marketing and operational efficiency.
The Board also recommended the elevation of K.R. Bijimon, currently Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, as the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). A chartered accountant by profession, Bijimon has been with Muthoot Finance for nearly three decades.
The leadership changes come as Muthoot Finance reported record financial performance for the June quarter. The company recently crossed ₹1.91 lakh crore in consolidated loan assets under management (AUM) and posted a record consolidated profit after tax of ₹10,606 crore in FY26.

The company said its existing leadership team and senior management will continue to work closely with Alexander George to drive the company’s long-term strategy while maintaining strong corporate governance and stakeholder value creation.
