The company’s net profit stood at ₹237.1 crore for the first quarter of FY27, compared with ₹205 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations increased 16.6% to ₹938 crore from ₹805 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
EBITDA rose 25.8% year-on-year to ₹444.3 crore from ₹353 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded to 47.35% from 43.86%, reflecting improved operating performance.
GSK Pharma said its general medicines portfolio delivered strong growth during the quarter, with its top five promoted brands outperforming the market.
The company said brands including Augmentin, Ceftum and T-Bact maintained their positions, supported by scientific engagement with healthcare professionals, omnichannel execution and pricing actions.
The respiratory portfolio also continued to expand, with Nucala seeing higher patient adoption and Trelegy Ellipta gaining traction through new access pathways, the company claimed.
The vaccines business recorded growth, led by private paediatric vaccines such as Infanrix Hexa and Fluarix Tetra. In the adult vaccination segment, the company said demand for Shingrix improved, supported by greater focus on older patients with underlying cardiovascular and metabolic conditions.
GSK Pharma also said its oncology business continued to grow following the launch of Jemperli and Zejula in August last year. The company said Jemperli is now the leading immunotherapy for first-line primary advanced and recurrent endometrial cancer, while Zejula is among the leading PARP inhibitors used for maintenance treatment of recurrent ovarian cancer, citing industry data.Managing Director Bhushan Akshikar said the quarter’s performance reflected broad-based growth across the company’s general medicines, vaccines and innovative medicines portfolio. He added that GSK remains focused on execution, technology investments and future product launches to support long-term growth.
Pipeline and upcoming launches
Looking ahead, GSK Pharma said it is preparing to launch Blenrep (belantamab mafodotin), a treatment for adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, in India.
The company also said Arexvy, its vaccine to prevent respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)-related lower respiratory tract disease in adults aged 60 years and above, as well as high-risk adults aged 50-59 years, has received marketing authorisation.
Shares of GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd (GSK Pharma) ended 0.02% lower at ₹2,655 on the NSE on August 3, ahead of the company’s June quarter earnings announcement.
