P&G Health Q1 Results: One-off asset sale boosts profit; Stock falls 5%

P&G Health India reported a healthy start to FY27 on Thursday, with June-quarter profit rising sharply as steady sales growth, operational improvements and a one-time gain from the sale of an immovable asset supported earnings. Despite the healthy performance, the stock traded lower after the results announcement.

The company reported net profit of ₹96 crore, up 45.2% year-on-year from ₹66 crore. Revenue increased 7.4% to ₹363.7 crore, while EBITDA rose 10.3% to ₹99.5 crore. Operating margin improved to 27.3%, compared with 26.6% in the corresponding quarter last year.

Management said the company delivered sales of ₹356 crore, up 7% from a year earlier, driven by strong brand fundamentals, disciplined retail execution and encouraging consumer response to recent product innovations.

Profitability also benefited from strengthened supply chain and go-to-market capabilities, alongside the one-time proceeds from the sale of an immovable asset.

Managing Director Milind Thatte said the company had carried forward the momentum from the previous financial year, delivering balanced top-line and bottom-line growth. He attributed the performance to science-backed innovations, stronger consumer communication, improved distribution capabilities and continued investments in operational efficiency.

Thatte added that the company’s strategy remains centred on a focused portfolio of trusted healthcare brands, supported by product superiority, productivity initiatives and an agile operating model aimed at creating long-term value for stakeholders.

The quarter reflects P&G Health’s continued emphasis on strengthening its core portfolio rather than chasing aggressive expansion, with management highlighting execution, innovation and supply chain improvements as the key pillars of future growth.Following the earnings announcement, however, shares of P&G Health fell over 5% on the NSE, indicating that the market looked beyond the headline profit growth, which also included the benefit of the one-off asset sale.

P&G Health India markets over-the-counter and prescription healthcare brands across vitamins, minerals and therapeutic products, and is part of the global Procter & Gamble healthcare portfolio.
