Pharmaceuticals and crop protection firm Hikal Ltd on Thursday (August 6) reported a consolidated net loss of ₹7.4 crore for the first quarter, narrowing from a net loss of ₹22.4 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Revenue for the quarter increased 30.5% year-on-year to ₹403 crore from ₹308.4 crore.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 49% to ₹36.6 crore, compared with ₹24.6 crore in the year-ago period. EBITDA margin expanded to 9% during the quarter from 6.5% a year earlier.
Hikal operates across pharmaceuticals, crop protection and speciality chemicals, offering services ranging from research and development to commercial manufacturing.Shares of Hikal Ltd ended at ₹216.60, down by ₹15.55, or 6.70%, on the BSE.
