Stocks to Watch Today, August 7: Shares of LIC, Trent, Reliance Power, Fortis Healthcare, Britannia Industries, Apollo Tyres, Coal India, Dabur, Nazara Technologies, Afcons Infrastructure and others will be in focus on Friday, August 7, after reporting quarterly earnings or announcing key corporate developments.

While several companies posted strong June-quarter financial performance, others made strategic announcements, including order wins, fundraising plans, regulatory updates and project awards, which are likely to influence investor sentiment.

Q1 Profit Jumps 23 per cent

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) reported a 23 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit to Rs 13,492 crore for the June quarter. Total income increased to Rs 2,37,848 crore from Rs 2,22,864 crore a year earlier.

Trent

Profit, Revenue Rise

Trent posted a 26 per cent year-on-year increase in standalone net profit to Rs 532 crore in the June quarter. Standalone revenue rose 19 per cent, while consolidated revenue climbed 18 per cent year-on-year.

Earnings Improve

Reliance Power reported a 45 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 64.71 crore for the June quarter. Total income increased to Rs 2,103.75 crore from Rs 2,025.31 crore a year ago.

Revenue Growth Continues

Fortis Healthcare posted a 2.3 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 273 crore in the June quarter. Consolidated revenue rose 17.5 per cent to Rs 2,545 crore.

Double-Digit Profit Growth

Britannia Industries reported a 14.08 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 593.38 crore for the June quarter. Revenue from product sales grew 9.47 per cent to Rs 4,964.37 crore.

Profit Sees Multi-fold Jump

Apollo Tyres posted a multi-fold increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 348.87 crore during the June quarter. Revenue from operations stood at Rs 7,397.79 crore.

Enters Iron Ore Mining

Coal India emerged as the preferred bidder for the Gadadharpur iron ore block in Odisha, marking the state-owned miner’s entry into the iron ore mining business.

Dabur

Domestic Operations Unaffected

Dabur said its domestic operations remain unaffected by the US FDA’s action. The company has also submitted a revised response to the US regulator addressing observations at its manufacturing facility.

Swan Defence and Heavy Industries

Bags Overseas Order

Swan Defence and Heavy Industries secured an order worth Rs 251-750 crore from Denmark-based Svitzer.

US FDA Flags Facility

Alkem Laboratories said the US FDA classified its Amaliya manufacturing facility as Official Action Indicated (OAI) following an inspection.

Powerica

Wins SECI Wind Project

Powerica received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the development of a 100 MW wind power project.

Subsidiary Secures SECI LoA

CESC said one of its subsidiaries has received a Letter of Award from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

Launches Salesforce App

Route Mobile launched a Salesforce-native messaging application on AgentExchange.

Bags Rs 1,918 Crore Project

Afcons Infrastructure received a LoA for a Rs 1,918 crore desalinated water tunnel project in Mumbai.

Approves Rs 733.5 Crore Fundraise

Nazara Technologies approved raising Rs 733.5 crore through a preferential issue of shares at Rs 306 apiece.
