The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved IndusInd Bank’s proposal to establish a wholly owned subsidiary to undertake stock broking business, the private sector lender said in a regulatory filing on Friday, Aug 7.

The bank said it received the RBI’s approval through a letter dated August 7, 2026. The approval allows the proposed subsidiary to carry out stock broking activities after the bank infuses equity capital into the entity.

The move will enable IndusInd Bank to offer stock broking services through a separate regulated entity, expanding its presence in the capital markets ecosystem.

According to the filing, the RBI’s approval is subject to additional conditions specified in its approval letter.

The bank said the wholly owned subsidiary will undertake stock broking business, with the required equity capital to be infused by IndusInd Bank in accordance with the regulator’s approval.

The subsidiary can begin operations only after the bank fulfils the RBI’s conditions and completes the capital infusion.

IndusInd Bank also said the intimation regarding the RBI approval has been uploaded on its official website for the information of shareholders and other stakeholders. Also read: Tata Sons still an upper layer NBFC on RBI list
