NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday drove home the significance of his government’s stability by contrasting his continuing stint since 2014 to seven PMs rotating through the office in Britain and stated that this, coupled with his governing alliance’s expansion by coopting regional aspirations, has delivered the goods for the country.Meeting new entrants to the NDA, including rebel Trinamool MPs and six from Shiv Sena besides those recently elected to Rajya Sabha, PM Modi emphasised the importance of the alliance in ensuring stability and development, sources said. An MP said PM Modi articulated the idea of a strong and stable NDA government at the Centre which is also catering to regional aspirations by joining hands with regional forces and satraps.Some Muslim MPs in the breakaway TMC faction, including Yusuf Pathan and Abu Taher Khan, who had raised eyebrows by keeping away from NDA parliamentary party meetings, were also present in the interaction.The PM spoke of the importance of eastern India and said his government has been working to boost the region’s growth. “We are overwhelmed by his knowledge and his treatment of us. He told us whether someone is in the NDA for 20 years or one, everyone is our family,” rebel TMC MP Kakoli Ghose Dastidar said.
