Net profit declined 20.2% year-on-year to ₹57 crore, compared with ₹71.4 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue, however, rose 24% to ₹508.5 crore from ₹410.2 crore a year ago.
At the operating level, EBITDA increased 8.6% year-on-year to ₹108.8 crore, compared with ₹100.2 crore in the year-ago quarter. The EBITDA margin, however, contracted sharply to 21.4% from 24.4%.
The weaker profitability weighed on the stock. Shares of Jyoti CNC Automation fell over 10%, touching an intraday low of ₹738.90 on the NSE on Friday.
Margin pressure remains in focus
The June-quarter performance comes after a weaker-than-expected March quarter for the machine tools manufacturer. In Q4FY26, consolidated net profit had fallen 16.9% year-on-year to ₹90.6 crore, while revenue increased 4.2% to ₹600 crore.
EBITDA declined 16.6% to ₹148.2 crore, with the margin contracting to 24.7% from 30.8% a year earlier. Higher operating costs and finance expenses weighed on profitability, with standalone finance costs more than tripling year-on-year to ₹19.4 crore.
For FY26, the company reported a 20.68% rise in standalone revenue to ₹1,949 crore, compared with ₹1,615 crore in FY25. However, the growth remained below the management’s earlier guidance of 35-40%.Also read: Kalyani Steels Q1 Results: Profit, EBITDA rise as margin improves; stock falls
Full-year net profit stood at ₹391.3 crore, up from ₹310.1 crore a year earlier, while profit before tax rose to ₹523 crore from ₹416.3 crore.
The latest quarter therefore marks a stronger start on the revenue front, but the sharp margin contraction keeps profitability firmly in focus for the machine tools maker.
