J Kumar Infra Q1 Results: Revenue inches up, but margin pressure dents profit

J Kumar Infraprojects reported a mixed performance for the June quarter on Thursday, with revenue registering modest growth while profitability remained under pressure due to softer operating margins. The stock initially fell after the earnings announcement before recovering to trade in positive territory later in the session.

The infrastructure developer reported a 5.6% year-on-year decline in net profit to ₹97.5 crore, compared with ₹103.3 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue, however, increased 1.8% to ₹1,511 crore, indicating steady project execution despite a challenging operating environment.

EBITDA declined 1.2% year-on-year to ₹214.5 crore, while the operating margin narrowed to 14% from 14.6% a year earlier, reflecting continued pressure on profitability.

Following the announcement, shares of J Kumar Infraprojects fell to an intraday low of ₹471.05 before recovering sharply. By mid-afternoon, the stock was trading over 1% higher at ₹495.40 on the NSE.

The June-quarter performance follows another subdued quarter at the end of FY26. EBITDA fell 4.8% to ₹223.9 crore, although operating margin remained broadly stable at 14%, highlighting the company’s ability to maintain profitability despite weaker execution.
