Bombay Dyeing Q1 profit nearly halves, revenue rises 9%; operating loss narrows


Maharashtra based textile company Bombay Dyeing reported a mixed performance for the June quarter, with revenue growth accompanied by a decline in profit, while its EBITDA loss narrowed sharply from the year-ago period.

The company’s profit fell 48.7% year-on-year to ₹7.08 crore from ₹13.81 crore. Revenue increased 8.7% to ₹410.8 crore from ₹377.8 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) loss narrowed to ₹0.58 crore from a loss of ₹14.04 crore a year earlier.

Rajnesh Datt reappointed as manager

The company also approved the reappointment of Rajnesh Datt as Manager of the Company for a further period of two years, effective February 4, 2027, subject to approval from the company’s members.

Datt was initially appointed as Manager for two years with effect from February 4, 2025, and his current term will expire on February 3, 2027.

The reappointment has been proposed under Sections 2(51), 2(53), 196 and 203 of the Companies Act, 2013.

Earlier, on May 4, the company had informed that it has received an assessment order from the Assessment Unit of the Income Tax Department for Assessment Year 2023–24, enhancing its taxable income by ₹574.35 crore.The enhanced income has been set off against available tax losses. The company said a tax demand notice of ₹2,26,760 has been raised, while penalty proceedings have also been initiated separately by the Income Tax Department. Bombay Dyeing said the order was received through a system-generated email on Monday, May 4, 2026.
