BENGALURU: A 40-year-old man allegedly strangled his two minor daughters to death before attempting suicide inside a room at a five-star hotel near Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru on Monday.The deceased were five-year-old Sheik Zehara and 10-year-old Sheik Zoya. The accused, SG Imran, was found unconscious with his throat slit with a knife. He was shifted to a nearby private hospital, police said.Imran, a manager with a private cab company and a resident of Bilalnagar near Nagavara Main Road, had checked into a room on the fourth floor of the hotel around 7.30pm on Sunday, police said.According to hotel staff, Imran said he was checking into the room as he had to receive a guest arriving from Dubai after midnight on Sunday. He told the staff that he would check out by Monday morning.However, Imran did not check out as scheduled, an investigating officer said.“By 12.30pm, the housekeeping staff knocked on the door but received no response. Again, at around 4.30pm, they knocked on the door, but there was no response. At around 5.30pm, the hotel manager opened the door using a duplicate key,” police said.“The children were lying dead near the bed, while Imran, with his throat slit, was lying near the sofa. An ambulance was immediately summoned and all three were shifted to a nearby private hospital. However, doctors declared the two girls dead on arrival. Imran is still undergoing treatment,” police said.Deputy Commissioner of Police, North-East Division, Mithun Kumar GK said, “In the evening, we got a call from the hotel security manager regarding the suspected deaths of two female children and a man battling for life.”A death note was recovered from the crime scene, and police suspect that it was written by Imran.“I am fed up with life due to the extra-marital affair of my wife. I have evidence to prove her affair. She has hurt me. I am taking my daughters with me,” police said, quoting the gist of the note.Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths and the suspected suicide attempt.
