RVNL Q1 profit rises 19% as revenue grows 11%, operating profit more than triples

RVNL partners with Goa government to develop infrastructure projects in the state


PSU rail infrastructure player Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) reported an 18.5% year-on-year rise in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) attributable to equity holders of the parent to ₹159.36 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, from ₹134.53 crore a year earlier.

Revenue from operations increased 10.5% year on year to ₹4,321 crore from ₹3,909 crore. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) surged to ₹185.4 crore from ₹56 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded to 4.3% from 1.43% in the year-ago quarter.

Total income increased to ₹4,462.29 crore from ₹4,136.96 crore, while total expenses rose to ₹4,244.91 crore from ₹3,972.92 crore.

Sequential performance

On a sequential basis, however, RVNL’s PAT attributable to equity holders declined 14.8% from ₹187.07 crore in the March quarter. Revenue from operations fell 35.5% from ₹6,695.91 crore.

Total income declined 34.2% sequentially to ₹4,462.29 crore from ₹6,780.89 crore in the March quarter.

The June quarter results come after RVNL, on July 20, said it had emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a ₹358.97 crore engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from East Central Railway for rail doubling works in Bihar.

The project involves doubling works on the 41.04-km Kundawa Chainpur (excluding) to Raxaul (excluding) section, as part of the doubling of the Sitamarhi-Raxaul rail line in the Samastipur Division of East Central Railway. The scope includes earthwork, blanketing, construction of minor and major bridges, station and other buildings, platform works, level crossing works and other miscellaneous works for 25-tonne Indian Railway Standard Loading.

The company had an order book of ₹99,262 crore as of August 1, 2026, according to its latest disclosures. RVNL reported a turnover of ₹20,012.26 crore for financial year 2025-26 and said it had commissioned more than 158 projects to date. It has 27 project implementation units spread across 23 locations in India and overseas.

On the stock market, RVNL shares closed at ₹229.23 on Tuesday, down 0.63%. The stock has fallen 35.62% so far this year and is down 32.85% over the past year. Over a three-year period, however, the stock has gained 82.39%.
