Karisma Kapoor has a way of making even the most dramatic outfits look effortless. Her latest appearance is another example, with the actor stepping out in a rich crimson creation by Ridhi Mehra that brings together the shape of a fitted gown and the fluid drape of a saree.Celebrity stylist Ami Patel shared pictures of the look on Instagram, giving fans a closer look at the outfit. And there’s plenty to notice, from the sculpted silhouette and asymmetric neckline to the long drape that trails behind Karisma. The outfit takes the familiar saree and gives it a more structured, eveningwear feel. The fitted bodice sits close to the body, while the neckline crosses diagonally over the chest and wraps around the shoulder. One shoulder is left bare, adding a slightly edgy touch to the otherwise elegant look. But the drape is what really catches the eye.A long panel of fabric falls from the shoulder and flows down one side before extending behind her. In one of the photographs, Karisma holds it out, allowing the fabric to spread dramatically around her. It gives the outfit plenty of movement without making it feel fussy. The lower half features a long, fluid skirt with soft pleats that fall all the way to the floor. A delicate embellished detail at the waist adds a subtle touch of sparkle to the deep red ensemble.

Karisma kept the jewellery bold but carefully balanced. She wore earrings from Mohar, along with rings from H. Ajoomal Fine Jewellery and Neha Roongta Fine Jewellery. Her wrists were stacked with bracelets and bangles from Neha Roongta Fine Jewellery, Milo Jewels India, Mohar and H. Ajoomal Fine Jewellery. The mix of silver-toned jewellery and colourful stones worked particularly well against the crimson outfit. Rather than sticking to one matching set, the layered pieces gave the look a more personal feel. Her beauty look was much more understated.Hair stylist Radhika Patel kept Karisma’s hair long, sleek and centre-parted, allowing the neckline and shoulder detail to remain the focus. Makeup artist Divya Shetty went with defined eyes, softly shaped brows, fresh skin and a muted pink lip.And that balance is what makes the whole look work. The outfit itself is quite a statement, but Karisma hasn’t piled on unnecessary details. The deep crimson shade, fitted silhouette and dramatic drape already do most of the talking.Saree-gowns have become a popular choice for those who want the elegance of Indian draping without the fuss of a traditional saree. Karisma’s Ridhi Mehra look takes that idea a step further, blending a body-skimming gown with the movement and drama of a saree drape. It’s glamorous, but still controlled. And on Karisma, the combination feels very much at home.
