Revenue from operations more than doubled year-on-year to ₹572.2 crore from ₹247.9 crore, while EBITDA swung to a profit of ₹83.1 crore, compared with an EBITDA loss of ₹45.4 crore a year earlier. The EBITDA margin stood at 14.5%.
The sharp improvement in profitability came as revenue growth outpaced the rise in expenses. Total income for the quarter stood at ₹675.7 crore, including ₹103.4 crore of other income, while total expenses were ₹510 crore. Profit before tax rose to ₹165.6 crore from ₹23.1 crore a year ago.
The performance comes as BDL continues to add to its order pipeline. In June, the defence PSU secured orders worth ₹1,347.71 crore from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL). The contracts include Helina launchers and line replaceable units worth ₹1,109.37 crore and countermeasure dispensing system LRUs worth ₹238.34 crore. The orders are to be executed over 24 to 60 months.
BDL is a Ministry of Defence PSU that manufactures guided missile systems and allied defence equipment for the Indian Armed Forces.

Post earnings, shares of Bharat Dynamics jumped nearly 2% to ₹1,397.40 on the BSE, up ₹24.80, or 1.81%, as of 2:13 pm.
