Ducon Infratechnologies wins cooling system order for one of India’s largest aluminium smelters


Ducon Infratechnologies Ltd has secured an end-to-end contract for the supply and service of a Forced Cooling Network (FCN) System for the potlines at one of the largest single aluminium smelter plants in India.

The complete scope of work includes manufacturing, testing, packaging, transportation, installation, commissioning and proving of performance guarantee parameters of the FCN system. The company will also provide specialised technical support manpower throughout the installation and commissioning phase.

Ducon said the order extends its footprint across India’s aluminium and thermal power infrastructure landscape, with opportunities in Fly Ash Handling and Alumina Handling Systems.

Following the order win, the company said it is witnessing increased operational activity and is actively evaluating and working in the aluminium industry, which is experiencing significant capacity expansion. National demand is projected to scale towards 8.5 million tonnes by 2030.

The power industry is expected to add approximately 33,000 MW of coal-fired thermal power capacity in the coming years. Ducon said every new unit requires high-capacity Fly Ash handling and environmental management systems, an area where it has established engineering capabilities.

Aron Govil, CMD of Ducon Infratechnologies, said the company is strategically placed to capitalise on regional investments in Odisha, which he described as India’s aluminium capital.

The management expects opportunities across the thermal energy and non-ferrous metals sectors over the next five years, with the company citing its proprietary technology, single-source EPC capability and operational track record as key strengths.Ducon Infratechnologies provides engineering solutions across clean fossil fuel technologies, air pollution control and heavy bulk material handling systems, with capabilities spanning design, supply, installation and lifecycle services.

Shares of Ducon Infratechnologies closed 2.16% higher at ₹3.31 on the NSE on August 18, 2026.
