Wide receiver Jake Bobo has been placed on injured reserve following a significant knee injury sustained during Friday’s joint practice with the Tennessee Titans.

ESPN reporter Adam Schefter confirmed the development, revealing that Bobo’s injury will keep him out for the entire season.

“Seahawks placed WR Jake Bobo on season-ending injured reserve, the result of the significant knee injury he suffered during Friday’s joint practice with the Titans,” Schefter tweeted on X.

The 28-year-old has recorded 34 receptions for 323 yards and three touchdowns during his NFL career. He was expected to provide valuable depth at wide receiver for Seattle this season.

The Seattle No. 19 suffered the knee injury while attempting to make a leaping catch during Friday’s practice.

Bobo’s offseason contract saga

Bobo entered the offseason as a restricted free agent, prompting the Seahawks to place an original-round tender worth $3.5 million on him.

The Jacksonville Jaguars subsequently signed him to a two-year, $5.5 million offer sheet that included $4.5 million in guaranteed money, but Seattle chose to match the offer and retain the receiver.

Who will replace Jake Bobo?

Bobo’s placement on injured reserve opens a spot on Seattle’s roster, and the Seahawks moved quickly to bring in another wide receiver. The team signed Julian Hicks to fill the vacancy created by Bobo’s absence.

Schefter also confirmed the roster move in the same update, writing, “Seattle signed WR Julian Hicks to fill the open roster spot,” the ESPN reporter mentioned in his tweet.

Hicks gets another Seahawks chance

Hicks is returning to Seattle after initially joining the Seahawks last weekend. He was later waived when the team needed a roster spot for the addition of Trevon Diggs.

The 26-year-old went undrafted out of Albany in 2024 and subsequently signed with the Green Bay Packers.
