Axis Bank ties up with MakeMyTrip for travel discounts during long weekends

Axis Bank CFO Puneet Sharma resigns effective August 31, to pursue new opportunities

Axis Bank has partnered with MakeMyTrip to offer credit cardholders discounts on travel bookings during selected long weekends between October 2026 and March 2027.

Under the partnership, Axis Bank credit card users booking through MakeMyTrip will be eligible for a 10% instant discount on domestic flights, subject to a maximum discount of ₹1,800. Domestic hotel bookings will get discounts of up to 15%, capped at ₹5,000.

Discounts will also be available on international flights and hotels, buses, cabs, tours and attractions. Holiday packages will be eligible for an additional 5% discount, capped at ₹20,000.

The offers will be made available through separate booking windows ahead of selected long weekends, beginning with Gandhi Jayanti in October and extending through Good Friday in March 2027. The applicable discounts and booking conditions will be displayed on MakeMyTrip at the time of payment.

The partnership comes as Axis Bank expands its presence in the travel-focused credit card segment.

In February 2026, the lender partnered with IndiGo to launch two co-branded credit cards linked to the airline’s BluChip loyalty programme. The cards allow customers to earn rewards on regular spending as well as higher rewards on certain travel-related transactions.

The MakeMyTrip tie-up broadens that strategy beyond a single airline, giving Axis Bank a presence across flights, hotels and other travel bookings on the online travel platform. Also read: Axis Bank partners IndiGo to introduce two travel-focused credit cards
