NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday celebrated Rakshabandhan with schoolgirls at his residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. Wishing Indians on the occassion, he prayed that the auspicious festival bring happiness, prosperity, and success into everyone’s lives.PM Modi shared images of the event on X and said, “May this festival deepen the bonds of affection and harmony. May it bring happiness and prosperity to everyone.”He was also seen shaking hands and offering belssings to schoolgirls.Defence minister Rajnath Singh also celebrated Rakhi at his residence, with schoolgirls and NCC cadets tying him the sacred thread.“The festival offers a beautiful glimpse into our rich cultural heritage and values. It also inspires us to remain committed to the respect, security and dignity of women”, he wrote in a prior post on X.Congress president and Rajya Sabha leader of opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge said the festival also connects us through a sense of mutual respect, equality, and responsibility towards one another.
