The order covers tunnels T-13, T-14, T-15 and T-16 under package E-4 of the project. The contract was awarded by RVNL through a letter dated August 28, according to a regulatory filing by Ashoka Buildcon on August 29.
The project involves the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems required for the tunnels. These include substations, high- and low-tension cables, diesel generator sets, lighting, uninterrupted power supply systems, ventilation and fire-fighting systems.

30-month completion period
Ashoka Buildcon will have 30 months to complete the contract from the date of commencement. The company is also required to provide a performance bank guarantee of ₹25.51 crore to RVNL. The defect liability period for the project is two years.
The contract is a domestic order and is part of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag new rail line project in Uttarakhand.

Transmission project adds to order activity
Earlier this month, Ashoka Buildcon said it had received a Letter of Intent from REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) for a transmission project in Maharashtra. The project carries annual transmission charges of about ₹126.5 crore.
The project involves establishing the Sakoli substation in Bhandara district and was awarded through the tariff-based competitive bidding route, according to the company’s exchange filing.
The transmission project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months. This will be followed by an operations and maintenance period of 35 years.
Ashoka Buildcon closed Q1 FY27, ended 30 June 2026, with an order book of ₹15,251 crore, excluding ₹451 crore worth of orders secured after the quarter. Roads accounted for the largest share, with road EPC at ₹6,783 crore and road HAM at ₹1,519 crore, together making up around 54.5% of the order book.
Including railways at ₹1,346 crore, roads and railways represented about 63%. Power transmission and distribution stood at ₹5,066 crore, or 33.2%, while building EPC contributed ₹536 crore, or 3.5%.
