Gary “Angry” Anderson, the frontman of the Australian rock band, Rose Tattoo has suffered a cardiac arrest and is currently seeking treatment in hospital.The update comes weeks after Rose Tattoo cancelled the European leg of their farewell tour, citing a “medical issue”. In a social media post, the band, on Monday, announced on behalf of Anderson and his family, that he had suffered a cardiac arrest.The statement read, “On behalf of Angry and his family, we would like to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming messages of support, love and kind words.”They went on to reveal, “We would like to let everyone know that Angry suffered a cardiac arrest and is currently in hospital receiving treatment and the care he needs.”Asking fans for privacy, the band asked fans, “At this time, we kindly ask that you please respect the privacy of Angry and his family as they focus on Angry, his treatment and his recovery. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and ask that you continue to keep Angry and his family in your thoughts and prayers during the days ahead. We are incredibly grateful for the love and support that has already been shown. It is comforting to know just how many people are thinking of Angry and wishing him strength in his recovery.”Rose Tattoo had been scheduled to perform nine additional shows on their One Last Ride tour, which began last month. The band cancelled their European dates for what was expected to be their final year of touring.The veteran rock group announced earlier this month that they would retire from touring after more than five decades on the road.Before Angry’s health scare, Rose Tattoo were scheduled to return to Australia in September for farewell performances in Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane. The band is also due to appear alongside Suzi Quatro as part of the Red Hot Summer Tour in November.
