HSBC MF’s RedHex SIF crosses ₹1,000 crore AUM in two months

HSBC Mutual Fund’s RedHex Hybrid Long-Short Fund has crossed ₹1,000 crore in assets under management (AUM) within two months of its listing, according to the fund house.

The Specialised Investment Fund (SIF), launched in June 2026, had around 1,950 unique folios as of August 25. The fund invests across fixed income, equity arbitrage, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs).

The fund is benchmarked against the NIFTY 50 Hybrid Composite Debt 50:50 Index. Its investment strategy combines fixed-income investments with equity arbitrage and exposure to REITs and InvITs.

The ₹1,000-crore milestone comes as the SIF segment is still in its early stages in India. The category was introduced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to allow asset managers to offer strategies with greater flexibility in portfolio construction than conventional mutual funds, while remaining within a mutual fund regulatory framework.

SIF strategies can include features such as limited short exposure through derivatives and wider asset allocation, depending on the investment strategy and regulatory limits.

RedHex is one of the SIF strategies launched by asset managers since the category opened up. Its portfolio approach differs from conventional hybrid funds by combining fixed income with arbitrage and alternative asset exposures.

HSBC Mutual Fund said the AUM and folio figures are as of August 25, 2026, or the latest available data. The ₹1,000-crore AUM reflects the assets accumulated by the scheme and should not be viewed as a measure of its investment performance. The fund’s ability to generate returns and manage risk will become clearer as it builds a longer performance track record across market conditions.
