Jindal Worldwide shares rally 20% in 2 days; stock hits 52-week high after MD's reappointment


Shares of Jindal Worldwide surged up to 20% in intraday trade on Friday, September 4, hitting the stock’s 52-week high of ₹57.20.

The stock has rallied for two consecutive days, having risen up to 19.8% in Thursday’s trade after the company announced the reappointment of Amit Yamunadutt Agarwal as its managing director, effective September 3, according to a regulatory filing made after trading hours on Wednesday, September 2.

The company’s shares have surged over 98% since the start of the year, while gaining more than 55% over the trailing 12-month period. The stock had closed up to 4.5% lower just before the announcement was made later that day. It has closed in the green in seven of the previous 10 trading sessions.

More than 1 crore shares of the company were traded on the stock exchanges during intraday trade on Friday. The stock also displayed large trading volumes at over 12.52 times its 10-day average.

Jindal Worldwide shareholding pattern

The latest shareholding data available for the company shows that the majority of its shares were held by promoters at 61.76%, followed by public ownership at 38.24%. As of June 2026, only 0.09% of its shares are held by foreign institutional investors, while it had no domestic institutional investors.

Last month, the Gujarat-based textile manufacturer had approved raising up to ₹650 crore through a rights issue of equity shares. It said the issue would be offered to eligible shareholders on a record date to be announced later, subject to regulatory approvals.

The board had also formed a Securities Issuance Committee to finalise the issue price, entitlement ratio, record date and payment schedule. It approved raising the authorised share capital from ₹101 crore to ₹146 crore, subject to shareholder and regulatory approval.

The company, valued at ₹5,723.85 crore, is involved in weaving and the manufacture of cotton and cotton-mixture fabrics, and had announced strong earnings in late July for the quarter ended June 2026.Jindal Worldwide’s total income had risen 18.6% to ₹569.44 crore from ₹479.82 crore in the year-ago period, with revenue up 18.89% to ₹568.72 crore from ₹478.34 crore over the same period. Net profit rose 6.25% to ₹14.79 crore from ₹13.92 crore.
