CNBC-TV18 learns that the NSE may file an updated prospectus soon after receiving the approval. NSE may reveal the IPO price band on September 11, as the management aims for a listing on September 25.
The revelations come just days after the Supreme Court of India dismissed the regulator’s appeals in the NSE co-location and dark-fibre cases, removing a key regulatory hurdle to an IPO from the country’s biggest stock exchange.
NSE had filed its DRHP with SEBI in June for an IPO comprising an offer for sale of up to 14.89 crore shares, or around 6% of its paid-up capital. The issue is entirely an offer for sale, meaning the proceeds will go to the selling shareholders, not the business.
The proposed issue is estimated at around ₹30,000 crore and could rank among India’s largest IPOs.
CNBC-TV18 has written to SEBI seeking confirmation on the approval timeline and IPO process. A response is awaited.
