But according to social media posts, instead of selling houses or cars, H-1B families who recently lost jobs and did not find anything else are buying a one-way ticket to India, abandoning their houses, cars etc. There are no verified reports on this, and the viral claim does not project a huge number either; it says around 10 families left, burning their bridges.According to community reports, more than 10 H”-1B families in Celina, Melissa and nearby Dallas areas lost their jobs and returned to India, leaving their unsold houses and belongings behind. They were reportedly unable to pay their mortgages and property taxes or sell their homes because some property values had dropped by nearly $100,000. Most of these families had lived in the US for several years,” the post said.

The H-1B crackdown of the Donald Trump administration has a direct impact on home prices in Dallas. Prices began to fall earlier this year amid a rush to sell, Bloomberg reported. They were just taking their cars and left the US, leaving their cars at airports. Many companies had to recover those cars from airports. Now the same thing is happening,” Iyer said.“This might give Nick Fuentes and the Groypers great glee, but those jobs are now gone because of AI and various other reasons. It is going to become worse… many people are burning their bridges with the US as they are convinced that their jobs are never coming back,” Iyer said.H-1B visa holders get 60-day grace period to remain in the US after their lose their jobs. Within these 60 days, they have to either find a new job or change their status — both of which have become difficult now forcing people to leave the US while the administration wants to abolish the 60-day grace period altogether.
