Quote of the day by Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister in ‘Game of Thrones’: ‘Never forget what you are' |

Tyrion Lannister, known as the ‘Imp of Casterly Rock,’ embodies the spirit of perseverance through his cleverness and self-acceptance. His poignant line, ‘Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength,’ highlights the importance of owning one’s vulnerabilities.

The Imp of Casterly Rock, Tyrion Lannister is another one of ‘Game of Thrones’ most inspiring characters. The dwarf son of Tywin Lannister, he survived in a world filled with giants through his wit, his confidence, and his strength to command a room. Although he is known as ‘The Imp’ in a derogatory sense, he repurposes it and plays it to his strength. The character in itself is a huge inspiration, and some of his words said throughout the show can be applied to our lives as well.

Quote of the day by Tyrion Lannister

As Lannister once said, “Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.” The quote points directly to how important it is for an individual to work on themselves and be confident in who they are.The quote also talks about being aware of yourself as a person and accepting yourself as is, flaws and positives included. The part “make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness” refers to using your flaws and unlikeable attributes and making them a part of your identity in such a manner that they become your strength. If you are unable to do this, people and society around you will see all of this and use it against you.The quote also relates directly to the character. While Lannister was despised by his own family for his size and his other flaws, he still persevered through everything. He reclaimed his weakness as an ‘Imp’, and later on in the show, he owned the derogatory word like a badge of honor. Life is about identifying your flaws and accepting the labels that are thrown at you. Instead of being pulled down by them, you must rise above and reclaim your identity.
