Suryoday Small Finance Bank approves ₹200 crore NCD issue to raise capital


Private lender Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd on Monday (September 21) approved raising up to ₹200 crore through the issuance of Lower Tier II non-convertible debentures in a single series on a private placement basis.

The NCDs will be rated, listed, unsecured, subordinated, transferable, redeemable and fully paid-up. They will be categorised as Lower Tier II Capital in compliance with the Basel II framework on capital adequacy. The proposed NCDs will be listed on BSE Ltd and will have a tenure not exceeding 10 years from the deemed date of allotment.

“The board has approved the issuance of up to ₹400 crore in one or more tranches along with specific approval for issuance of up to ₹200 crore in this tranche (single tranche) of Rated, Listed, unsecured, subordinated, transferable, redeemable, fully Paid Up, Lower Tier II Non-Convertible Debentures in a single series, to be categorised as Lower Tier II Capital (in compliance with Basel II framework on Capital Adequacy) on a private placement basis,” according to a stock exchange filing.

The securities will be issued in dematerialised form. The coupon or interest terms and payment schedule will be as approved by the Board. The proposed issuance is unsecured and will not have any charge or security created over the bank’s assets.

First Quarter Results

Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd reported a 114% year-on-year rise in net profit to ₹75 crore for the first quarter of FY27, compared with ₹35 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Net interest income (NII) increased 27.8% year-on-year to ₹316 crore from ₹247 crore. The bank’s asset quality improved during the quarter, with net non-performing assets (NPA) declining to 1.27% from 4.21% in the previous quarter.

Gross non-performing assets (NPA) stood at 6.6% at the end of the quarter, compared with 6.55% in the preceding quarter. The bank reported a strong business performance in the first quarter of FY27, with gross advances rising 32.5% year-on-year to ₹14,376 crore as of June 2026, compared with ₹10,846 crore a year ago.

The bank’s disbursements increased 30.6% year-on-year to ₹2,954 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹2,261 crore in Q1 FY26. The Vikas Loan disbursement grew 19.3% year-on-year during the quarter.

Shares of Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd ended at ₹147.05, down by ₹0.50, or 0.34%, on the BSE.
